CBG is garnering more interest recently, from consumers and researchers alike, enough for us to release our own CBG Rich water soluble formula. Abbreviated for ‘cannabigerol’, this cannabinoid is one of the cannabinoids typically present in cannabis plants, it does not produce the “high” like THC, and it generally is not found naturally in higher concentrations like cannabidiol (CBD) is. (Although some hemp strains have higher levels of CBG naturally.)
A good full / broad spectrum hemp extract will generally have around 95% CBD, and CBC, CBN, CBG, CBDV, THC, and some acid forms of these will make up the rest of the cannabinoid content. CBG has the same molecular ‘key’ shape to bind with our ECS, but is ‘shaped’ a little differently than CBD.
CBG’s Potential Health Benefits
Customers ask us all the time if CBD or CBG help with a specific condition or disorder. The FDA has not approved over the counter hemp products, so we can’t make any claims that it will treat or cure anything. Some of the research in different areas is summarized below.
Studies on CBG & Health
Psoriasis / Eczema – a pharmaceutical drug company is undergoing studies for a CBG drug they are hoping to use to treat chronic eczema and psoriasis. Medical studies have shown CBG is a candidate for psoriasis treatment.
Irritable Bowel Disease – One study on mice showed cannabigerol affected disease markers positively for mice with induced colitis. This indicated to the authors that CBG “could be “considered for clinical experimentation in IBD patients.”
Neurogenerative Diseases – Researchers at Complutense University of Madrid published an exciting study related to neurodegenerative diseases such as Hungtinton’s, MS, & Parkinson’s. They concluded that CBG was “as extremely active as neuroprotectant” and may hold promise for such diseases.
Pain & Inflammation – ” Furthermore, CBG has more potent analgesic, anti-erythema and lipooxygenase blocking activity than THC” according to another study.
Other candidates for further study or potential therapeutic avenues for CBG include glaucoma, some types of cancer, bone formation / osteoperosis, and MRSA. Again, it’s important to understand that we can’t say it will treat or cure anything, but this exciting cannabis molecule gives us another avenue of research and option to provide our customers who are looking specifically for CBG rich CBD products.

I used your SunMed Broad spectrum 3000 mg vial last month for the first time. I have Addison’s disease, and have had multiple adrenal crises and hospitalizations. I increase my cortisol replacement medicine when warning signs hit, but this is often too late to avoid severe bodyaches. I have been taking oxycodone for many years, And I am in Florida’s Medical Marijuana program where I have tried a whole variety of cannabis products, including CBD’s. Getting to the right dose with your SunMed Broad Spectrum has made me feel more well than any pain medicine or other cannabis product, even to the point of giveing me a super power feeling that enhanced my squat workout by 30%. I would love to help your company.
